The blunt screws are often refered to as Type "B" thread-forming screws, they require a drilled hole and are typically used in 0.050"-0.200" material.

Sheet metal screws, also called self-tapping screws, have large threads for use in sheet metal sometimes also used in plastic, fiberglass, or wood. Allen (hex socket) drive is a six-sided recess for use with an allen wrench (hex key).
